MotionPlus Program

Multidisciplinary 12 week prehabilitation program

Suitable for osteoarthritis symptom management

Surgeon designed program

Convenient telemedicine delivery

Based on 360 Med Care’s multidisciplinary Osteoarthritis Management Program, which began trials in 2018, the MotionPlus Program (previously referred to as Xprehab) provides evidence-based treatment options aimed at reducing pain, improving function and quality of life, and ultimately delaying surgery for patients with knee and hip osteoarthritis. The MotionPlus Program works in conjunction with the existing Patient Partner Program and extends episode of care management options for patients in the early stage of their joint replacement journey.

The MotionPlus Program is a 12-week multidisciplinary program for patients with hip and knee joint osteoarthritis who have surgery planned for more than 3 months into the future. The program gives patients access to digital modules designed and managed by a team of Patient Partner physiotherapists and dietitians to assist with stabilising and managing symptoms.

What’s included in the Program?

Throughout the 12-week program, patients will be guided through a structured and individualised exercise management program in addition to having access to exercise, health living, and dietetics modules based on their current limitations and future goals. The surgeon remains actively engaged, and when necessary, a patient’s care can be easily escalated back to the surgeon to allow for further consultation. Outcome measures will be completed at various stages throughout the program and will include but not be limited to:

  • Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs)
  • Joint range of motion
  • Strength
  • Balance
  • Function

The MotionPlus Program is delivered entirely via telemedicine, increasing comfort and convenience for patients. This remote delivery allows the patient and their Patient Partner Physiotherapist to remain in close contact throughout the duration of the program and collaborate to meet their goals.
